Why ceiling fans matter more here than most people think
Sevierville summers sit in the high 80s with humidity that makes it feel warmer, and most homes in the county run a single central AC system that struggles to move air evenly through additions, bonus rooms, and cabin lofts. A ceiling fan doesn't cool a room — it moves air across your skin so the room feels three to four degrees cooler than the thermostat reads. The other half of the year matters too. Run the fan in reverse on low through winter and it pushes the warm air that collects at the ceiling back down the walls.
